Answer
Nikon is the best brand. If you want a really good camera get the Nikon D80 DSLR. As a beginner you can stick to a standard lens, or you can research different lens that will help you with the type of photography you do. Here are some types of lens and what there used for.

Telephoto- far shots, like the moon and others, nature, and portraits. At least the only ones I could think of.

Wide Angle- landscape, portraits (depending), night shots.

Macro- close up shots of anything.

And there are much more, but there for the more experienced and complecated photographer.

Also look into filters. If you get a digital camera don't worry about filters used for b/w.
Get yourself a program called photoshop. It's really expensive. If you want to try it out b4 you buy it then go to http://www.adobe.com and try the 30 day trial of Photoshop CS3. If you get the program it will cost around $600-$800. And look into a lens hood so you can prevent lens flare on those sunny days. Get a book on photography if you don't already have one.

Again just to start off with, I would use a standard lens. That's all I use, due to tight budget. Take a look at my pics. at http://www.myspace.com/lugenbeal. And learn how to opperate your camera in total manual mode, where you choose the aperture and the shutter speed, and zoom manually with the lens. You don't have to it's just a suggestion. It helps you to not be so dependent on auto, because ther will be times when you have to switch to manual.

Sorry for such a long answer, but I hope this all helps.

Im looking for a camera lens filters...55mm?
