What is the best Canon macro lens..........????

Hung N

I'd like to get one for my canon 350D Xt. Can you tell me one please ?
Monye doesnt matter.
Thanks.

Answer
If I'm not mistaken, the Canon 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro lens is the most highly regarded macro lens in the Canon lineup. I have one, and let me tell you- it IS a great lens! For more information, here are a couple sites that have reviews for this particular macro lens.

Canon 1000D vignetting and review about Tamron AF70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD MACRO lens.?

king

How can I do vignetting in the 1000d?

and is Tamron AF70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD MACRO, a good lens to be used with 1000d? If someone have used please let me know the results.

Thanks all in advance

Answer
The Tamron is an adequate budget lens. It is not as good as the Sigma 70-300mm APO, but the Sigma costs more! The cheaper non-APO Sigma is not as good as the Tamron.

The Tamron will start to get soft past 220mm or so. If you got the Sigma APO it will start to get soft after 250mm or so.

You might be better off getting the Canon 55-250mm IS. 250mm is plenty long enough.

@Jens, you can't compare the optical performance of two lenses based on the specifications. Just because you thought the Sigma was crap does NOT make another lens from another manufacturer crap! How on Earth does that makes sense!!!
