Question: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II camera Lens?

Dee

1) Is this a good/decent Lens for headshots?

2) I also have a standard EFS 18-135mm lens that came with my Canon 60D kit. I wanted to purchase a fisheye adapter that attaches to this lens. I know Opteka has some, but i have only seen ones that attach to the 18-55mm lens. Does anyone know where i can find one?

Answer
The 50 mm lens used on a 60D is exactly used for shooting head shots.

The cheap $40 fisheye attachments are pretty bad and may work on your 18-135 mm lens at 18 mm.

However, You must buy one that will fit on a 67 mm filter thread

Best lens for Headshots using NIkon 3000 ?

I'm planning on buying a nikon d3000 and i want to take actors headshot pictures with it. What is the best lens to do this?

Answer
Your best option is a prime (non-zoom) lens. 135mm is the usual for 35mm cameras, which translates to about 85 or 105 for a DX crop. If you can't find one (used on eBay or rental), the 18â200 VR DX is an okay choice, having larger glass than the kit lenses.

A 50mm is not suitable, as it would exaggerate facial features.

Keep in mind that your audience is composed of industry professionals who look at headshots for a living, and can easily pick out (read: throw away) work from an amateur.
