What is the most reliable SLR interchangeable lens digital camera?
Why are there so many good brand name cameras for a lower price than the Canon cameras, but it seems that the Canons sell the best?

Answer
There isn't one particularly reliable DSLR camera. It all goes down to what you're going to use it for; if you're a beginner, choose the entry-level ones, if you're a pro, go for the higher-end ones. There are a lot of brands like Pentax, Sony, Olympus but people mostly choose Canon and Nikon because they are experienced in this industry and have high standards of quality in their products and the quality of the images they produce.

What is the difference between SLR, and DSLR Camera's?

is it worth buying it?

which is better?

what brand would you recommend?

Answer
The term SLR refers to cameras that accept film, but most are no longer made.

The term DSLR refers to cameras that are digital or have digital workings inside them. They do not use film, but use the current memory cards

The "SLR" refers to Single lens reflex". With a single lens reflex camera you are focusing and viewing by looking thru the lens that takes the picture. So both SLR's and DSLR's function in the same way but of course digital is the in thing.

All manufacturers of cameras have discontinued the manufacture of SLR cameras in favor of the DSLR.
So to sum up you do not want a SLR camera
Only DSLR cameras are worth buying
DSLR cameras have been improved to such an extent that film SLR cameras are no longer necessary, making the DSLR's better!
I would recommend Canon as being the most popular on this web site. However I chose a Pentax DSLR as the viewfinder was more comfortable for me (eyeglass wearer). Also I like the fact that camera stabilization is built into the Pentax camera bodies. With Canon & Nikon the stabilization is in each lens the cameras use. Therefore the lenses are more expensive. ALso the new digital (DSLR) cameras can use older Pentax lenses used on film cameras, which you may be able to find and of course at a better price. I have had my Pentax for a little over a year and I am very comfortable with it.
