What is the best Nikon camera to buy??
THe best for the price...
And i want it to take good macro pics and action shots?

My price range is probably anywhere up to $800.

Answer
There are 4 cameras wtih lenses from nikon in that range D80, D60, D40x, D40.

The D80 is much more flexible and can use many more nikon and third party lenses than the others models and therefore is the best

As far as a macro lens, I would start with the kit 18-55, add a close-up lens (52 mm filter). If you need better then buy a true macro lens like a 60 mm nikon.

For sports, a good starter lens is 55-200 vr or an 70-300 G. Your next step would be 80-200 f 2.8 or 70-300 VR.

Need photographers advice! What kind of camera and lens would you get if you had $1500 to spend?

That's my budget, $1500. What would you buy with it? What kind of camera, Nikon?Canon? And what kind of lens or any other equipment you think would make my pictures look professional.

Answer
It really depends on what you want kind of photograph you want to take.

If I had $1500 I would spend it on a Canon EOS-1ds Mark I with a 17-40mm
f/4L USM. I do landscape.
