Discolored iPhone 4 camera?

C

I have had my iPhone 4 for a year now, and I use it for school more and more. However, I have noticed that when a picture of a white board or white paper is taken, there is a almost green tinted discoloration near the center of the picture. My friend's iPhone has exactly the same problem. Does anyone else notice this?

Answer
try cleaning the lens with a proper lens wipe, could just be grime. All phone cameras get dirty quickly because of their constant use as a phone.

How Do I Clean a Camera Lens ?

Q. i was in canda in niargra fall maid of the mist and got water on it my camera still works
i found out the lens has acoating some kind of stuff that the water washed of how can i put what was there before?

Answer
Get a lens cleaning kit. It will have lint-free tissues and the correct fluid. Or you could get a soft cloth that's safe for coated optics, then just breathe onto your lens, enough to leave a film of light mist, then wipe in a circular motion with the soft cloth.

Don't use regular tissues or toilet paper. Also, don't use your shirttail, unless you want to put scratches on your valuable lens.

I blew some air from my mouth on my digital camera lens to moisten it so I could wipe off the oil smears from the camera lens with a cotton swab...then I thought if it would have affected the protective coating of my camera, is it my doubt or the presence of condensed water on camera lens for a few seconds or wiping with cotton swab afterwards could have damaged its protective coating?

Answer
in short, no.

the protective coating is pretty tough, and even without the coating there the lens is going to work fine.

sorry i don't have alcohol at home.. suggest an alternative!

Answer
rubbing alcohol for both of your questions.
It is gentle on the lens and the glass, and it will remove all left over residue.
wet a soft cloth with rubbing alcohol and wipe it a couple times!

it costs like 50 cents at the dollar store

I have just bought a Fujifilm Digital camera. - The lens is already dirty!
Can I use a small cotton tip to wipe this finger-grease from it's surface with a dab of Windex or should I use a less invasive method to clean this focusing lens?

Answer
NO NO NO!

Invest a few dollars in a microfiber lens cloth. You may find this hard to believe but that cotton swab can actually scratch your lens and leave tiny bits of lint and Windex could damage the coating.

If your lens accepts filters then buy a Haze/UV filter for it. Its always better to clean a $20.00 filter after its suffered the indignity of a fingerprint or dog's nose or tongue or just general air pollution if you shoot a lot in the city.

I have lenses that are well over 30 years old and still have perfect front elements because they've been protected by a Haze/UV filter.

Why have lens wipes doubled in price?

FitnessPro

I used to be able to by a box of 100 lens wipes (for eye glasses, cameras, etc.) for about $3. Now, all of a sudden, they are charging $4-$5 for just 50!!!! Everywhere I look the price of pre-moistened lens wipes has doubled overnight. Does anyone know the reason for this or where I can get cheap lens wipes?

Answer
Buy a microfiber cloth. They aren't very expensive and can be used for a long time. If it gets dirty in the future, wash it with mild dish washing liquid. Don't use a fabric softener.
