Hey everyone im getting the Canon EOS 7D for christmas and its coming with the 28-135mm kit lens. Is this an overall good lens on this camera or do you recommend selling it and getting something slightly nicer. I have no other lenses so im sticking toward just keeping it as a starter lens.. Any opinions or experience with the lens?

I have had this lens for a few years, and it's awesome.
Wide enough for indoor, tight spaces, but a bit of Zoom to get you closer to the outdoor moments.
Not great for low light pictures, but not bad either.
Excellent starter lens. It's a keeper!

What are good settings for shooting in low light on the Canon 7D?

There really aren't any without a fast lens line the 50mm f/1.8 or lower - even f/1.4. Without that type of lens you'll have to do time exposures like this.
